Christos Alexandrou
Christos Alexandrou joined Charles R. Weber in 1998 as a broker. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber, Christos worked at Southport Maritime and Howard Houlder Tankers. Christos graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Social Psychology from Loughborough University, England.

Christos G. Papanicolaou
Christos Papanicolaou joined Charles R. Weber in 2013 as Director of Business Development, bringing years of experience in ship finance, capital markets, S&P and projects. Prior to joining Weber, Christos was Founder and Officer of Universal Maritime, Inc., an oil major-backed equity offering structure and was Founder and Managing Director of GP Trading. Christos spent over 20 years at Groton Pacific Carriers, where he was involved in all aspects of tanker ownership. Christos sits on the board of several shipping and non-shipping entities and has recently acted as advisor in two ship finance restructurings. Christos was educated at Hofstra University.

Peter Howard-Johnson
Peter joined the Charles R. Weber Company in 1985 as a broker and has been a director of the company since 2001. He is currently a manager of the ASBA Tanker Broker Panel and is on the Board of Directors of the Worldscale Association. Peter was previously a tanker broker at D and L Services and before that worked at U.S. Lines. He commenced his career in the maritime industry at Mobil Shipping and Transportation. Peter graduated in 1981 from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania.

Larry joined Charles R. Weber Company in 1988 in the operations department. He has been a broker with the company since 1990 and a director in 2001. Before joining Weber, Larry worked for Gibbs and Cox. He graduated in 1986 from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point in 1986 with a BS in Nautical Sciences/Marine Transportation and a Third Mate's license.

Peter joined the Charles R. Weber Company in 1985 as a broker and has been a director of the company since 2001. Educated in Dalian Maritime University, China, Capt. Larry Liu sailed worldwide on various types of vessels before landing ashore in a management role at COSCO. Capt. Larry followed this with extensive operational and chartering experience in both tanker and dry bulk trades in the United States for more than 15 years. Larry has joined Charles R. Weber Company, Inc. on the crude chartering desk while also liaising on project development in China and leading the dry bulk chartering.

Mike joined Charles R. Weber in February 2014 as a broker. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber, Mike worked at MJLF & Associates for 6 years as a broker on their larger tanker dpp desk. Prior to that, he worked as a senior analyst in fixed-income commodities trading at both Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers in Westchester and New York City. Mike graduated from Fairfield University's Dolan School of Business in 2004 with a BS in Business Marketing.

David Herman joined Charles R. Weber in 2020 as a Director and Head of Capital Markets. David brings deep corporate finance and capital markets expertise to the firm. Throughout his 25 year career on Wall Street, David has worked at a number of prestigious firms, including Credit Suisse where he was the head of the maritime investment banking practice. David has also worked at small advisory firms, at a family investment office, and as an entrepreneur. David holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Haakan Svedin joined Weber in 2016 as a projects broker bringing years of experience from the ship owning, spot chartering, and period business side. Prior to joining Weber, Haakan worked for many prominent publicly traded ship owners such as ICB Shipping, Frontline, OMI Corp., and Teekay. For the past 7 years, Haakan managed the Gemini Tankers Suezmax Pool. Haakan has a degree in finance and accounting from the University of Stockholm.

John Kulukundis joined Charles R. Weber as a research analyst in 2005. Prior to that John worked as a tanker and projects broker for Charles R. Weber and various European and Far East brokerages. He worked on the chartering desk for ship owners London and Overseas Freighters and was at sea for two years.

Prior to joining Weber, Rob was a financial products and derivatives attorney for Clifford Chance Rogers & Wells and McDermott Will & Emery. Previously, Rob worked as credit and collections manager and bunker analyst for Trans-Tec Services. Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law.

Captain Tom Bontemps joined Charles R. Weber as Manager of the Operations Department in May 2014. Prior to joining Charles R. Weber, Capt. Tom worked for Hess Corporation where he had extensive experience handling chartering, operations, vetting, and demurrage in all clean, dirty, and crude sectors. Capt. Tom sailed on container vessels, dry cargo vessels, and tankers and currently holds an active Unlimited Master's License. He is a graduate of SUNY Maritime College where he earned a B.S. in Meteorology and Oceanography.

Diana Esteves joined the operations department of Charles R. Weber in 2014. Prior to joining Charles Weber, Diana worked as a vessel operator for OSG Ship Management, Inc. and Heidmar Inc. Diana’s first work was as a boarding ship agent for GAC and Rice, Unruh, Reynolds Company in New York Harbor. Diana is a graduate of SUNY Maritime College where she earned a B.S. in Marine Transportation and Business Administration and her Unlimited Third Mates License.

Diana Cabrol joined Charles R. Weber Operations Department in 2014. Diana graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a BS in International Maritime Business. As a cadet, Diana spent a month with the Panama Canal Authority in 2013, conducting ship inspections on tanker vessels and learning about Panama Canal transit and scheduling operations.

Alex Schwinn started at Charles R. Weber as an intern in March of 2019 during his senior year and officially joined the Houston team in May of 2019, after graduating from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Maritime Administration.

Richard joined Charles Weber in 2014, bringing 26 years of experience in commercial operations/bunker procurement at OSG. Richard was AVP of Commercial Operations of Aframax International, a pool of 45-50 ships. In 2010, he created a centralized fuel desk for OSG, arranging fuel for the Aframax, Suezmax, and product fleets. 90 ships managed by OSG’s office in NY, Houston, and Athens. Richard worked in the Supply and Distribution Department of Caltex where he scheduled entitlements of Indonesian and Arabian crude oil for Chevron, Texaco, and Caltex.

Jim joined the Charles R. Weber Company in 2015. Prior to joining Weber, Jim was Managing Director of OSG Lightering in Houston between 2007 and 2014. Prior to his lightering endeavors, Jim worked as a Chartering Manager and Crude Oil/Feedstocks Trader for Fina Oil and Chemical in Dallas. Jim holds a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas and an MBA from Texas Christian University.
